Tow Master specialises in the manufacture, sale and hire of high quality exhibition trailers, fridge freezer trailers and event vehicles across the UK.
Tow Master build trailers for a range of clients for roadshows and promotional events. These clients come from a range of B2B and B2C industries as diverse as renewable energy, agriculture, public bodies, utilities, marketing and events etc.
Our customer base is wide and varied and covers all industries from The Armed Forces, Police and Fire Brigade to car dealerships, universities and heritage groups through to suppliers for the O2 Arena, Hydro Scotland and the Echo Arena Liverpool plus several top level sporting teams.
The Production Engineer role
Tow Master are looking for someone to become part of their experienced assembly and design team that help customers dreams become a reality. The successful candidate will become part of a team delivering high quality and efficient fabrication, restoration and repair of a range of specialist trailers and vehicle bodies.
Tasks will include everything from the assembly and installation of the running gear through to body assembly and full internal fit out of items such as floor and wall coverings, furnishings and often 240v electrical and LPG gas installation plus bespoke features.
The ideal Production Engineer will need the following:
Experience in coach building and/or caravan assembly is essential, as you will be expected to assist other employees in all departments to ensure the sharing of knowledge, experience, expertise and information as well as communicate professionally with colleagues, customers, suppliers, contractors and any other visitors.
- 3 years + experience
- Engineering qualifications, not essential but would be an advantage
- Reliable and considerate
- A good time keeper
- Safety conscious
- Able to work as part of team and individually
- Able to problem solve
- Flexible hours when necessary
Build Exhibition / Bespoke Trailers:
- Fit running gear: Axles, coupling, mudguards and 12v electrical harness to chassis
- Fit baseboards and floor coverings
- Cut and frame apertures in body panels i.e. doors, hatches and canopies
- Fit body panels
- Fit out trailer:
- Mains electric
- Fit furniture
- Fit audio, video and comms equipment
- Final clean and checks, torques etc. Training provided on site, but a basic knowledge and understanding of some of the above tasks is essential.
Production Engineer Skills Required:
Use of power tools: Drills, Skill saw, Jigsaw, Disc cutter / grinders, Chop saw, Dimension saw
Fasteners: Screws, nuts and bolts etc.
Adhesives and sealants: Glues, silicones etc.
Sheet: Timber ply, aluminium, stainless steel, acrylic, poly carbonate etc.
